covasquareCova Security Gates Ltd - Invention not Convention.

IFSEC Exhibition 11 - 14 May 2009
NEC Birmingham
The Meeting Place for the security Industry

IFSEC is the largest gathering of suppliers, manufacturers and distributors of everything that is security. With extremely high numbers of professionals gathering to source new products and services this exhibition was an absolute must for locally based Cova Security Gates Ltd.

Cova Security Gates have been successfully trading since 1987 and specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of Speed Gates, Sliding Cantilevered Gates, Boom Barriers, Rising Road Blockers, Rising Bollards, Pedestrian Gates and Turnstiles.

All Cova products are designed for applications where a high level of perimeter security is required, where there is a demand for long term continual usage of the product, and where aesthetics are not to be overlooked. Cova stay ahead of their competitors by implementing a constant regime of in house research and development, which they strongly believe, gives their clients an ever-improving product range.

There is no doubt that Cova Security Gates stand head and shoulders above their competition when it comes to the best products and service, but, how to stand head and shoulders above their competitors at the largest exhibition in the industry?

Graham Laker and the team at HH Design were delighted to work with Cova security to ensure their success! Says Graham, "We have worked with Cova Security Gates a number of times over the last 10 years and having a good understanding of our clients business meant we could get straight to the matter in hand! Creating a visual impact that portrayed Cova's professionalism and experience in a way that left the competition standing and with HH Design based in Crawley, West Sussex it meant that tying up those last minute exhibition requirements was easy."

Working closely with Cova Security the team at HH Design created and produced a wide range of marketing tools for the exhibition. From presentation folders to flyers, from business cards to delegate feedback forms, from product data sheets to exhibition stand graphics, from printed CD's complete with data to the actual CD sleeves themselves, throughout all the marketing tools produced they all had the same thing in common - punchy eye catching design that grabs attention!

HH Design even took video content and still photography from Cova's crash testing and produced an exhibition movie to run on a loop on the stand. The movie shows three different products crash tested at speed and really captures the effectiveness of the products on offer in a great all action way. We have included the movie for you to see below - so please take a look.

The movie was designed to show exhibitors technical textural data also so if you want to skip this and get straight to the action then a tip is to start the movie at around 50 seconds.

tot_squareHH Design create a concept theme to suit Cancer Support…

The Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre opened in January 2004, they provide a drop-in centre, complementary therapies, counselling, information and support for cancer patients and their carers and families. Situated in the grounds of Crawley Hospital, they are an independent charity offering support to cancer patients and their carers and families. Formerly known as the cancer self-help group Crawley Cancer Contact, the group was co-founded in 1990 by Heather Goodare and others, and was granted charitable status in 1992. Thanks to their many supporters, they were delighted to open in their own premises in 2004.

The Olive Tree came to Crawley based HH Design for a creative twist to freshen up their identity to help portray the serene, caring and relaxing services they offer for everyone involved with cancer. This involved changing their existing logo, new font research and concept imagery to give the feeling of serenity and relaxation which is not dated and has the ability to build up a family of images to use in the future.

The new identity has now been used on a number of different platforms including the printing of brochures, posters, stationery, pop-up exhibition displays, leaflets, advertising and more. The re-brand has literally just been finished and it is still very early stages but the feedback so far has been tremendous!

foppSussex based HH Design re-brand TutorCare with a stunning new look to take their sales to a new level!

TutorCare are a well established business with an absolutely first class service and offer the very highest quality of training available with every course 100% accredited. What they needed was a brand image which properly portrayed their business and clearly communicated their USP's.

HH Design's Managing Director Graham Laker took things right back to basics by identifying what made TutorCare different from their competitors and making sure that their new brand not only had aesthetic appeal but most importantly communicated TutorCare's unique selling points in a glance.

The result - a stunning and effective brand identity which works on any level from marketing collateral to exhibition display and the internet.

Red Nose Superstars!

Graham Laker tells Dee Blick why HH Design are delighted to be in the red...

Business Talk readers know that HH Design are not just any design agency... so, it will come as no surprise to learn that when the team behind the hugely popular online trading community, thepeoplesweb.com wanted to pitch the idea of building a Comic Relief trading community to the Comic Relief marketing team, it was HH Design that they turned to for the essential design input and creative strategy.

Graham Laker, HH Design's Managing Director takes up the story. "thepeoplesweb.com is an online trading community where people pay £12 a year to buy or sell as much as they want. We've been working with the team behind this website for some time now, so with this all-important pitch, they wanted us as their design partner so that we would make the right impact with the Comic Relief marketing team." Graham knew that to do this, the pitch to Comic Relief had to demonstrate a clear understanding of the vision and values that underpin the Comic Relief brand. The red nose has become an enduring and iconic symbol and this too had to be reflected in the, concept they were presenting. "As you can imagine," Graham continues, "the marketing team at Comic Relief are on the receiving end of thousands of ideas so we knew that ours had to really stand out. We had to show that this project had the potential to raise millions..."

The result?

Well as you can see, HH Design and thepeoplesweb.com team were given an overwhelming vote of confidence from Comic Relief and so marketplace09.com (the brand name for the new Comic Relief online trading community) was born. The design concepts, animation and fabulous graphics are courtesy of HH Design. To secure the buy in of journalists the team created goody bags, each one including a marketplace09.com presentation on a USB stick - attached to the larger-than-life image above. It went down a storm! "This project embraced everything we are passionate about - creative design, print and web that delivers results. It also holds a special place in our hearts because marketplace09.com has the potential to raise millions of pounds for Comic Relief and in doing so it will change many people's lives for the better," concludes Graham.
